Plot

- This comic is about a classroom of students currently having their science lesson on global warming with their teacher Mr Kwok

- It will be based on a discussion between the teacher and the students

Motive

- To educate the public about what global warming and the greenhouse gas effect is all about

- It will also show the effects on greenhouse gas effect and the ways to prevent Global warming

Mr Kwok : “Class, today I am going to discuss the topic on global warming and greenhouse effect since the examinations are over and we need to be geared up for the upcoming green leader project 2010.

Mr Kwok: Eddie, what do you think global warming is?

Eddie: Hmmm… I am not that sure… Is it something about the earth heating up?

Mr Kwok: You are not wrong Eddie, Global warming is about the earth Heating up.. It can be caused by pollution from factories, carbon dioxide from rotting trees, burning of coal and the fumes from the cars exhaust pipes

Mr Kwok: Philip, you seemed to be very bored with this lesson. Let me ask you a question; What do you think is the use of the ozone layer.

Philip: I have read that somewhere in the newspaper before. It says that the ozone layer helps to protect the earth from harmful untraviolet rays.

Mr Kwok: Excellent, Philip, you have hit the nail on the head! You may sit down.

Mr Kwok: Now, let me tell you some information about the greenhouse gas effect and the ways to prevent global warming. Firstly, greenhouse effect is a process by which radiative energy leave a planetary surface and which is then absorbed by some atmospheric gases, called greenhouse gases. They transfer this energy to other components of the atmosphere, and it is re-radiated in all directions, including back down towards the surface. This transfers energy to the surface and lower atmosphere, so the temperature there is higher than it would be if direct heating by solar radiation were the only warming mechanism. To prevent global warming from conquering the Earth, we, ourselves can take action now and save our mother earth by using CFC-free products and throwing litter away to the appropriate bins.
